Millions of people in China and other parts of the world celebrate the Chinese New Year (CNY). The celebration has however lost much of its meaning in many parts of the world today because of commercialism. Today’s CNY celebrations are very different from the CNY celebrations held a few decades ago. For instance, many temples in China turn into hawker markets every year during the celebrations.
